Sweden’s PAIN OF SALVATION are likely the very opposite of a predictable and standardized act and they once more prove their unmatched reputation as true artists, modern rock expressionists as well as progressive metal pioneers by re-visiting their 2002 album masterpiece “Remedy Lane”. Following up their latest studio releases “Road Salt One” (2010) and “Road Salt Two” (2011) as well as the acoustic album “Falling Home” (2014), PAIN OF SALVATION are looking back to their much acclaimed “Remedy Lane” epos and offering a new shape for the ground-breaking and genre-bending material it contains. Always eager to improve the album’s character, PAIN OF SALVATION’s Daniel Gildenlöw recently teamed up with old companion and mixing engineer wizard Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Symphony X, Devin Townsend, Haken, etc.) for a new sonic take on the original recordings as well as its intense full-album live performance from ProgPower USA Festival 2014. Daniel Gildenlöw further comments: “Jens Bogren, aka Fascination Street Studios, approached us a few years after the release of “Remedy Lane“, saying he was a fan of the band and kindly offered his services. He was later involved in “BE” and “Scarsick“, but always in the periphery, since we were taking new directions in our sound and production by then. His true strength lay in that impressive wall-of-sound type production that we had been aiming for with“ The Perfect Element“ and “Remedy Lane“, and I always wondered how those albums would have sounded in the care of his skillful hands. Maybe it was time to find out?”
Limited edition Digipak including bonus track and patch.
“Téras” doubtlessly marks another milestone in the band’s career, delivering the most sophisticated, most elaborate and most vicious Black Metal ever to be disgorged from the pits of hell. The album combines NAGLFAR’s sheer savageness and rabid malevolence with majestic riffs, multifaceted song structures and epic melodies.

Aside from interviews, the issue also includes review sections and a special article by Northern Heritage that focuses on the connection of nature and Black Metal. DEAD REPTILE SHRINE, SATANIC WARMASTER, MUSTA KAPPELI, PHLEGEIN and VORDR all discuss the relevance of natural surroundings to themselves and their artistic work.
With its 56/A4, designed by Briandvp and professionally printed in full colour, TSF serves you once more a unique insight into the black, esoteric undercurrent that flows at the core of genuine Black Metal while pouring scorn on the politically correct, entertainment-seeking, fools who try to tame its sinister spirit.
The second opus from this brilliant band. This album showed Ulver were going to be an experimental, unpredictable band early on, having no trace of the black metal that was the foundation for their debut. Instead, the mood is melancholy and introverted, played entirely on acoustic instruments. Captivating, hypnotic, absolutely beautiful stuff for cold winter nights…

The Burning was the pre-Lustre project. Some of you may wrongfully consider the same as a rough version of the Swedish acclaimed project but are really missing the target. The Burning is like watching the majesty of the nightsky, a large and even more dreaming version of the darker and more depressive declination that Lustre took later on.
The 2cd edition is a comprehensive collection of all material released by the The Burning, nothing missed. Atmospheric Black Metal at the state of art, where a deeply emotional keyboard layer is like shred by the abrasive primeval guitar sound.
The edition is a limited to 600 copies Gatefold Digipak version.
”Den Förstfödde” is Arckanum’s 9th studio album after 25 years of existence.
The album ”Den Förstfödde” is a dedication to Loki’s and Gullveig’s firstborn, Jörmungandr.
The songs are invocations, prayers and magical formulas, and they are designed to enkindle the black flames of Thursian Powers, its followers and Ragnarök. “Blow your venom and stretch your wings oh Mighty Dragon!”
The sole definition of Depressive Black Metal doesn’t fit anymore to Falaise.
With their second effort the italian duo is ready to further cross the boundries of this genre to involve the expanding vision of post-rock and indie tunes.
This defragmented vanishing flux of emotions is well shifted on the cover, the mind and the feelings are like swallowed into the infinity of cosmos.
A tribute to Amesoeurs is performed with the cover song “Les Ruches Malades” providing a possible chance of comparision. If “As Time Goes Bye” was already an impressive and coherent collection of emotionally heart wrenching songs maturity has been achieved with “My Endless Immensity”, where the different chapters seems like part of a bigger scenario.
THE LURKING FEAR is no longer just the title of a classic H.P. Lovecraft horror story. It now represents a new five-piece death metal band featuring some of the finest musicians to come out of Sweden. Consisting of Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates/Disfear) on vocals, guitarists Jonas Stålhammar (God Macabre/Bombs Of Hades) and Fredrik Wallenberg (Skitsystem), bassist Andreas Axelson (Tormented/Disfear)and Adrian Erlandsson (At The Gates/The Haunted) on drums, the “supergroup” tag might come to mind, but as Tompa explains that is far from reality: “We want to steer away from the project / supergroup label. THE LURKING FEAR just happens to be five guys that are in or have been in other bands for a long period of time. We've all known each other since 1989 – me and Jonas were writing letters back and forth and tape trading – so I have no idea why it took so long for us to get together and do this.” And everyone who appreciates pure, timeless death metal inspired by Autopsy, (early) Death, Morbid Angel, Possessed or Repulsion will be beyond happy that they finally did as “Out Of The Voiceless Grave” is one hell of an album. Written within a mere two months, it strikes with an authentic, furious intensity and successfully avoids a retrospective, ancient sound by purpose: “We don't want to try and recreate something that we've done in our other bands,” says Lindberg. “And we know what we don't want. There are bands that try too hard to recreate that old school sound, and they make it too dirty and too raw just for the sake of it. We want to make good recordings that sound heavy as fuck and are well produced, but at the same time we want to expose that raw nerve that is missing in some of the more modern stuff.” Songs like “Vortex Spawn”, “The Infernal Dread”, “Upon Black Winds”, “Winged Death” or “The Starving Gods Of Old” are best proof that THE LURKING FEAR accomplished this goal. A must-have for any death metal maniac out there!
THE HAUNTED are back with their 9th studio album “Strength In Numbers” and it turns out to be an aggressive, versatile and uncompromising sonic assault that is even more intense as its 2014 predecessor “Exit Wounds”, which marked the first album with Marco Aro on vocals since 2003. Next to Aro, THE HAUNTED consist of Jensen (Guitars), Ola Englund (Lead Guitars), Jonas Björler (Bass) and Adrian Erlandsson (Drums) and by tapping Russ Russell (Napalm Death, The Exploited, etc.) for production duties, “Strength In Numbers” sports a rawer, darker vibe resulting in an authentic, unrelenting monster of an album. A song like the merciless thrasher “Brute Force” lives totally up to its title, “Tighten The Noose” is another no-holds-barred attack, whereas “Preachers Of Death” offers a Pantera-like mid paced fury and “Spark” or “Means To An End” successfully unite thrash riffs with a gloomy atmosphere. To sum it up: A damn strong, f**king pissed off opus!
Swedish extreme metal icons ARCH ENEMY present their most versatile album to date with 2017’s “Will To Power”! Marking the second opus with Alissa White-Gluz on vocals, it bears all elements of ARCH ENEMY’s trademark melodic yet crushingly heavy sound, but also offers some stunning sonic surprises. After the astonishing success of 2014’s “War Eternal” and 2016’s massive live release “As The Stages Burn!”, Gluz, Amott, Loomis, D’Angelo, and Erlandsson now deliver an album which is more than ready to top that! “Will To Power” was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Kreator) and its powerful cover artwork was created by exceptionally talented painter Alex Reisfar. From start to finish, “Will To Power” is another milestone in ARCH ENEMY's career and its brilliance is based on one simple formula as Michael Amott explains: “What I've always believed to be important is to stay true to yourself and the reasons why you started. Why you love music must always be at the forefront. I'm pretty good at keeping the 15-year-old Michael Amott alive in my heart!”
40 something minutes of SHEPHERD live. Extended jams and freakouts included.

Sweden’s FIRESPAWN are back with a f**kin‘ vengeance! Already the 2015 debut album “Shadow Realms” was a scorching piece of diabolic death metal created by members of Entombed A.D., Necrophobic, Unleashed, Raised Fist and Naglfar, the new opus “The Reprobate” (2017) turns out to be even more infernal. Being written in a shorter term compared to the debut, „The Reprobate“ offers a devastating intensity that is highly recommended to fans of US death greats like Morbid Angel, Deicide or Vital Remains as well as Polish acts like Behemoth or Vader. Garnered with truly epic guitar melodies, scathing blasts, uncompromising riffs and probably the most brutal vocal performance LG Petrov has ever delivered, tracks like “Serpent Of The Ocean“. “Blood Eagle“, “Death By Impalement“ or the title track slay for days, weeks, months. Topped off with artwork by Paolo Girardi (Inquisition, Power Trip), “The Reprobate” is a must-have!
Deluxe Digibox edition with ‘Berdreyminn’ + bonus tracks “Svart Blóð” and “Samband i Berlin” in CD Digipak with extended 24 page booklet + earplugs with Sólstafir storing pouch + pin + patch. SÓLSTAFIR are not like any other band. Their sixth album ‘Berdreyminn’ underscores this statement. As its title “a dreamer of forthcoming events” aptly describes, the four Icelanders have taken their already impressive evolution one step further. The band has continued to amalgamate haunting melodies, psychedelic phases, as well as strong undercurrents of classic rock and hard rock with echoes of their metal past. Yet SÓLSTAFIR’s focus is not on style but pure emotion. ‘Berdreyminn’ is eclectic by a conscious choice to make feelings audible and transform taste as well as texture to sound. Genre borders are not broken but simply ignored. Musical influences are gathered from a wide range of sources, re-arranged, and woven into new patterns. Melancholy, longing, anger, joy, pleasure, pain, and other emotions are fuelling & fulling this album.

NIGHTBRINGER are pushing forward in their fast-track evolution with grim determination. Their forthcoming fifth full-length 'Terra Damnata' takes at least as big a step into new musical dimensions as its predecessor 'Ego Dominus Tuus' (2014) – yet without straying from the band's original black course. While 'Ego Dominus Tuus' amalgamated traces of quintessential elements taken as inspiration from EMPEROR, DARK FUNERAL, and DIMMU BORGIR among other black classics into a dark American alloy, 'Terra Damnata' seems to systematically sever such ties to the previous orthodoxy found on 'Hierophany of the Open Grave' (2011). NIGHTBRINGER have sharpened their claws and unafraid of dissonance dare to take their songwriting where it hurts.
Madness reigns! BENIGHTED deliver the radical soundtrack to these savage times. With their new full-length ‘Necrobreed’, the French sidestep the steadily growing complexity of their previous albums by recalibrating their sound along their roots. ‘Necrobreed’ is the result of modern violence combined with an undercurrent of old school feeling. BENIGHTED keep their grinding influences but classic death metal clearly shows through the fabric. Those insane pig squeals are backed-up by massive growling and guest performances by vocalists Trevor Strnad (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER) and Arno (BLACK BOMB A). Crushing riffing and nuclear drumming meet subtle melodies and hidden hooks are fuelling the fury.
The 4 tracks of the legendary Jazz Progressive Metal formation Watchtower that were only available over digital version, are now available as the “Concepts of math: Book one” release.
